On Page SEO

As I mentioned earlier, on page SEO is the internal attributes relevant to your search engine rankings, factors such as including your keywords in the Meta Tags is important as well as including keywords in heading tags and within the content/body of the website.

On Page SEO

Title: The title tag is one of the most important on page SEO factors which affect the search engines. You NEED to include your keywords in this tagline. As a general rule of thumb the title tag shouldn’t be longer than 70 characters.

Meta Description: It is not guaranteed that Google will use your description for the search engines. However, you need to ensure your keywords are included in this tag too.

Meta Keywords: All you need to do here is add the keywords followed by a comma and a space.

Body: The body of your web page will include heading tags, lists, bolded text, underlined text and your main content. Ensure that the heading tags are used accordingly and those keywords are implemented naturally.

Heading tags: The heading shouldn’t be too long, however it should include the keywords and highlight the topic what the content covers.

Content: The content should be relevant to the keywords you are trying to rank for and you should try to include your keyword within your content several times. However do not stuff the content with keywords, write naturally as this is what the search engines are looking for.

Keyword Position: Another strategy for ensuring your on page SEO is bullet proof is including your keyword at the start of your article and at the end. This doesn’t have to be straight at the start and at the end but generally within the first sentence.

Footer: Internally linking the most prominent web pages that you are seeking to rank in the footer helps strengthen these pages by building internal links.

These are the main principals of on page SEO; there are many other factors which could help with on page SEO however I will discuss this further down.

The on page SEO is only 25% of the struggle, to really maximise a websites SEO, you must address off page SEO.
